In October of 2009, Rohan and I went on our first ‘real’ holiday together – to New Zealand. My intention was partially to introduce him to my grandparents while they were still alive, but also to get the opportunity to explore the country I was born in as an adult. Or… realistically, at all, as touring and tourism were not high on the priority list for visits when I was a child.
We flew in and out of Auckland, and in between visited the Coromandel, Lake Taupo, Napier, the Waitomo Caves and Hamilton.
